Note: The example character is heavily over encumbered. His excuse is that most of his kit is in saddle bags on his ridding ostrich. So he has entered a large 'not carried' figure. (If I were DM I wouldn't let him get away with this!) As an exercise try reducing this number and see how quickly the character become unplayable.


What is it?

A spreadsheet implementing quite a bit of the RQII character generation rules. Written under excel 2003 but also works in OpenOffice (which is free).

Can be used to create/maintain character sheets. Is not intended to replace dice, pencils and the rule book in game play.

How to use it ?

Blue

Value to be entered by player.

Black

Calculated value. Generally this has been auto derived from other fields. However there are always 'special cases'. If so enter your own number. But remember that you will have to maintain this value manually in future (or re-enter the formula from a 'blank' sheet.).

Amber

Value above advised limit (will cause penalties)

Red

Illegal value (fix it)


What's missing ?

Possible additional 'advanced stuff'

These involve carrying out complex logical operations on the sheet. So long as consistent cell naming is used possibly could be done using a Java excel library such as Apache POI.
